Aidan is no ordinary 5 year old boy, in fact he is quite extraordinary. What sets him apart from most kids is his love for all things scary. He loves monsters, clowns, drawing, and dressing up. He does not wait for Halloween to roll around to have an excuse to wear a costume. And you better believe while in costume he will break character for nothing.
We are all heartbroken that he has to go through everything that goes along with chemo, but as his father, Wylie, has said it is a tragedy that will ultimately be defeated by love. We are confident that after all is said and done Aidan will have his health back, but first we must take this journey through leukemia.
Although, at this point, it has only been one week since we received this terrible news we have come across many generous people and it has humbled us all. The doctors, the nurses, family, and complete strangers have come through with knowledge, understanding, moral support, and even more. We thank everyone for their kindness.
Hi Aidan,
Fred works with your dad. I am very sorry to hear how sick you are. I hope you will still be able to take care of your little bro. I will say a prayer for you every day I have 2 grandsons Evan is 6 years old and Ethan is 4 years old. I have alot of fun with them. Altho they are not as talented as you are. I love your drawings and hope to see more of them. Keep drawing. Alicia
Aidan – You are new favorite monster! You are fearless and brave and somehow have made me love all monsters!
Aiden,
Your artwork is so awesome. You are so very talented. I am so sorry you’re sick and that you have to go through so much treatment to get better. I can’t wait to hear that you’ve beaten all the L word out of your body. Keep fighting that L word, and please keep bringing us awesome art into the world. We all need it!
– J
Aiden, you are a very, very brave boy, I am so proud of how hard you are fighting the cancer monster. I found out about you on regretsy and plan to add one of your monsters to my art collection. You and your family are in my prayers and we pray for the miracle of healing and wellness for you. May God continue to bless you and your family.
Aidan – just bought one of your stegosaurus drawings and can’t wait to get it! It looks great! Keep hanging in there, and remember what the great Albus Dumbledore said: “Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light!”
P.S. your situation got picked up by reddit.com so prepare to start drawing a lot!

Your drawings are so cool! I would love to buy one, it looks like you have a lot of fun with your art 🙂
Your parents seems super awesome too. It’s so good to see all the love you have around you as you fight to win your battle. It may be scary sometimes, and that is very natural, but it looks like you are very strong and will win very soon.
Best wishes and love,
Alison
Aidan,
You sure do look awfully scary in your costumes!! I have a 5 year old nephew who LOVES to dress up, too! Do you know what you’re going to be for Halloween? I would love to send you some markers!!! I’m saying big prayers for you buddy!
Hi Aidan!
I learned about you from facebook! I read your story and saw all the beautiful smiles from the pictures posted. We are a military family, and my husband is overseas, all the troops from 2-7 IN 3ID are praying for you, they are in Iraq right now, and I am told to relay that YOU are their HERO! Stay strong, continue to smile!
We send our love, thoughts, and prayers!
You’re so brave and I love your drawings!
I hope you stay happy and beat this as fast as you can.
Everyone wants you to beat the ‘L’ and they’re all praying for you. 😀
Good luck little man 🙂
Dear, Aiden.
As a fellow artist, I am very, very impressed by your work. Your monsters are fantastic! You have a great eye for detail and I know that when you’re grown up, you’ll be the envy of all your friends with a talent like that. Stick at it!
Good luck with the chemo, I expect sometimes it will be hard but keep on drawing. The love of your family and your love for art will get you through this.
I’ll look forward to reading about you when you’re in your twenties and producing fabulous works of art, or designing prosthetics for the monsters in films!
Lots of love, Holly. x
Yo Aiden, I have a lot of respect for you mate. Your drawings are really cool! keep it up! 🙂
Hey Aiden, I came across this link and felt moved to post. My uncle had ALL as well so I know what you’re going through isn’t easy, but I really admire how strong you’re able to be. Stay strong and never lose your passion. I’m going to buy some of your art as well as soon as I get paid next Thursday. It’s some really creative stuff. =]
Jah keep you strong! believe in colors and the sun!
I just donated 15 dollars.
This little boy broke my heart, and it also hit me because he looks exactly like my nephew. I literally broke down into tears.
I’m glad to read that he was able to head home. I’m sure hes pretty stoked about leaving the hospital.
I will be checking back for updates and I will be donating more.
Keep strong Aidan! Before you know it this will all be over with.
And then you’ll have a story to tell all the ladies ;]
Hi, Aiden,
Though you might not understand this yet, I’m sure your father will when I say that as a 20-year-old boy, one of the things I nearly never can do is cry.
When I heard your story, for the first time in a very long while, my eyes were full of tears. I was scared for you, and sad that this difficult task was unfairly given to you.
Reading more, when I heard about how certain it is that you are going to get better, my tears dried and now, I just want you to know that I really admire you. I’m so sorry for the hardships that are ahead of you… but I believe you’re stronger than them.
I will be following your journey, and I will try to help, if I can – so that you will be able to look back on this when you are twenty.

Hi you guys!
I am devastated by reading the story about Aidan. I really hope everything is improving for you, I wish you all the best! Keep smiling and think positive. In the end everything will turn out good for you! I am absolutely sure, that Aidan will, with your help, will soon be as happy and fit as he was!
You are a great family, keep it up!!
Hey Aidan. What’s up?
You remind me a lot of my little brother. His name is Paul, and he is seven. While I am away from home at the Air Force Academy on my adventure pretending to be an adult (I have them all fooled), he draws me pictures of pirates, aliens, monsters and soldiers and mails them to me once a week. I think you would like him. 🙂
Anyway, I just wanted to say you’re really brave. Keep it up buddy. I know being famous is hard work.
Aidan, I read about your art at the blog Art and Lair late last night. My son Charlie had ALL when he was 6 years old. Charlie is now a sophmore in college and is very happy and healthy. I was very happy to be able to buy some of your art. I am going to put it next to some of Charlie’s art that he made when he was your age. I will be following this blog to keep track of your progress. Have fun drawing.
Cindy
Hi Aiden,
I just wanted to tell you that I think your art is super awesome! I really like your pictures of monsters & am going to buy some to hang up at my house. I just have to decided which ones I like the best. They are all so cool that it is a very tough choice! I have one little cousin, Kaiden who is your same age, and he was sick with Leukemia just like you, but now he’s all better. I have another cousin named Hanna, she is 13, and she is sick right now with Leukemia too, but I’m very sure you are both going to be better soon! I think you are very brave, and I’m really excited to buy some pictures from a famous artist like you!
Sarah
Hey Aidan!
I think you are so cool and so do all my friends in Australia. We love your monsters and we hope you get better soon! We are going to tell everyone we know so we can get as many people as we can involved. Have fun and stay cool! xoxoxo
Hi Aidan and the rest of the family from the other side of the world,
Being a breast cancer survivor myself, i think i have a little idea what you are going through as a human being. Tho’ I had the cancer in my late 20’s and it was really very hard some days just to breath… So i cannot even begin to imagine what you are experiencing. But it’s obvious Aidan is a strong soul. I’m sure he’ll overcome all the monsters he’ll face in his life time, not only the L word but the usual difficulties too.
Aidan, keep up with the drawings. I used to design jewellery when i was sick, and looking back on those days, now i can clearly see that it was the one thing which kept me going.
Thnx everyone for sharing the courageous story and extraordinary talent of such a special soul. Too precious to be kept hidden. Will definately buy some for my office… And will be spreading the news to everyone around me, making sure everyone enlightens by his wisdom 🙂
Pinar,
Istanbul
Hey Aidan,
I saw your drawings and they are awesome mate!
You are a brave young man and also very famous now. I am telling you coz I live on the other side of the world and I know you 🙂
I am praying for you to get well soon and go make lots more drawings.
Love and prayers,
Tin
Hi Aiden,
Love your monster drawings! I like to draw too. I thought your wolfman pictures were so cool I bought one for my apartment in NY. Keep up the great work!!
-sougwen
Hi Aidan, I love your drawings! 🙂 You remind me of my friend Neal, who was my best friend when I was 5. He had leukemia and it really sucked. But now he’s 25 and doing great. The cancer’s been gone for years and years now! Good luck fighting and don’t stop drawing.
Ruth
Keep on drawing kid, you’ve got a crazy awesome imagination there. 🙂
I’d like to feature Aiden and his remarkable work on my site, I’m posting here to ask permission to use images (with full credit to Aiden) along with a link to the this site. I’m
asking here because I can’t seem to find a contact us link.
Aiden, My nephew was diagnosed with ALL on May 17, 2009. He was 13 years old. He’s 14 now, and doing GREAT! This first year of chemo is gonna suck mightily, no lie, but you’ll get through it, and the maintenance phase will be cake by comparison. Keep your chin up, kiddo, tough it out, and you’ll be healthy again before you know it.
Hi Aidan and Family. I’m the Creative Director of Universal Studios in Hollywood and creator/producer of Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights in Hollywood. I LOVE your drawings, particularly the Universal Monsters (Wolfie, Frankenstein, Creature, etc.). I did drawings like this when I was your age (though honestly, yours are A LOT better than mine). Anyone who loves the Monsters is a friend of mine. I have a “MONSTER ROOM” in my house and will place your drawings in my collection. Please have your family contact me…I think your drawings deserve to be seen by more people. I have a movie museum at the studio and would love to include some of your work. Maybe we can help your parents out too. They must be really busy now that you’re so famous.
From one monster lover to another…wishing you all the best.
John Murdy
the universe loves you Aidan, you are protected by the power of universal love.

Hi Aidan and Family!
What a great talent you have! You are quite the artist. Artists draw straight from their heart and from what their mind sees – and that’s what you’ve done. Great job.
I am a composer of neoclassical symphonic music and I’d love to set your artwork to music. I sent “Aidan’s Friends” on Etsy.com a message regarding this. I would be honored to be allowed to do this for you. No cost at all. All concert proceeds would go to your foundation.
If you would like that, I’d love to come and meet you in person. I know you hear sounds, roars, and perhaps music too when drawing. I’d love to discuss what you hear and how you would describe your monsters. It is rare that a composer has the honor of discussing his inspiration with the actual artist. YOU are the artist who gives me inspiration.
Aidan, if you or your parents would like to discuss this, please contact me at the email provided or have your parents check “Aidan’s Friends” on Etsy for my longer message.
Thank you and God Bless.
Andrew Pergiovanni
Aidan,
I just bought your Nosferatu drawing and I can’t wait to get it! I’m going to hang it up with all of my other pictures. You are very talented! Keep thinking up more monsters for us, we all love them!
Sarah
Hey Aiden,
Your drawings are awesome! I especially love The Wolf Man ones. Hang in there little buddy, and get well soon. Who knows maybe one day me and you can watch a scary movie together. I’ll bring the popcorn!
With love,
The HORROR Man.

Your frankenstein will be coming to stay at my house soon and every time i look at him i will be reminded of you, and your cool cool costumes and your crazy cool COURAGE ! much love & healing vibes to you and your family x
Aidan,
You should be so proud of yourself! Your art is extraordinary! just like you. I already have some favorite pieces and I can’t wait to receive them.
Even if I have never met you, know that you are supported and loved. You have the support of your family and friends and now of people around the world. With an army this strong and loving on your side anything is possible. Be strong and keep smiling.
big hug,
Jen
I run an art and design website called Beautiful/Decay. Although we feature many types of art we have a soft spot for all things, weird, scary, and filled with gore. I’m going to do a blog post on our website tomorrow to promote Aiden’s prints. I’ve already posted it on our twitter and many of our readers have placed orders. I’ll be doing the same shortly!
Keep the monsters coming Aiden!
ps. will any of Aiden’s original drawings be for sale? They are amazing!
your art work reminds me of what my brother use to draw hehe when they were 5, my friend at school Matt had the same as you, he became a dad for the first time 3 weeks ago to a lovely little girl he is 23. Your only 5 so proberbly think girls smell or you have a 100 girl friends hehe. keep smiling everyday and i think your a cute little monster trying to guess what your dress up as at halloween emmm have a good day
This little guy is so tough. What an angel. I was sick a lot when I was little – constantly in and out of hospitals. I know what it’s like and it’s horrible. What Aidan is going through is far worse than anything I’ve ever dealt with. He is absolutely in my thoughts and my prayers. I’m doing everything I can to draw attention to this site not only because I want everyone to help out, but because I think people should read his story. He’s a hero. I, myself, am a HUGE Scream fan, and I posted about Aidan at a forum I go to. In the topic that I posted I told everyone that he’s one of us – a lover of all things scary. There are very few kids as cool as Aidan seems to be. I’m truly inspired and humbled by him. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family. Thank you so much for sharing Aidan’s story.
Fuerza Aiden! saludos desde Chile!!!!!!

Sending imaginary cupcakes and positive thoughts your way!
xx
Aidan, I wish you the best of luck with your treatment. My prayers are with you and your family!! Stay strong!!!
Hello Aidan and family,
I found out about you guys on Facebook yesterday. I can relate to your situation, because when I was a kid, I was diagnosed with a life-threatening illness at age 11… the Horror Movie section at Beyond Video really helped get me through that rough time.
Aidan, your courage and drawings are impressive! I’m going to be ordering one tonight, and I also blogged about you so hopefully a few more folks get to see your work. (My fave is your killer clown!)
Positively Yours,
Shawn
Hi Aidan! I am from Phoenix, AZ. A friend of mine told me about you! I have something in common with your aunt. My nephew, Dylan had ALL. He was diagnosed at 8 weeks old. When you are that little you have diffrent treatment, but we still went through a lot of the same things as you. He is 18 months old now and is in remission! He is very tough like you! Maybe someday you could visit his website and hear all about him. I am sure your aunt and parents would like to read his story. It has a very happy ending! His website is prayfordylan.com.
I just wanted to let you know that my whole family, even baby Dylan, is praying for you! We are even raising a lot of money right now for the Luekemia and Lymphoma Society through Light The Night Walk. It is really fun! We all get to walk with Red, White, and Gold balloons for everyone we know with luekemia. Maybe when you are feeling better you guys can participate in one in your area!
Keep being tough and brave Aidan. I know it is not very fun sometimes. I can’t wait to get one of your monsters!!!! Have a great day!
Renee Henderson
Thanks for the inspiration, I know you can make it through this buddy!
I was diagnosed on October 18 1980 with advanced ALL. I did a week in the hospital in Rochester Minnesota (St Mary’s Hospital, Mayo Clinic), had my cranial radiation in November 1980 at Rochester, then started chemo at a local doctor.
We didn’t have Hicks lines or shunts then, it was a fresh IV, Spinal Tap or IM injection for each treatment.
Did my first two years through late October 1982, relapsed with it metastasizing. Back to radiation and two more years of chemo, then finally done with chemo in November 1984.
Back with some liver problems from the chemo for a summer, then hormone replacement therapy that is still on going. It’s been 30 years and 2 weeks as of tomorrow since my first symptoms. 10969 days.
Drive on little stud, dig your art but love your positive attitude even more. Look forward to reading about in the future; healthy and monster mashing about.
-One of your Many Fans
Aidan and family,
I think it is fantastic to see the outpouring of support and encouragement that you and your family have seen. My prayers are with you and I wish you the best of luck with your treatments. I’m hoping I can buy one of your drawings when you have more of them up on Etsy again. You have a lot of talent already, and I wish you MANY more years of creating art!
As an artist myself, at no other time in my life was art more fun for me then when I was 5 years old with a never ending imagination and a clipboard full of paper and a box of markers. I still have a large folder of my old drawings and I love to flip through them from time to time.
Best of luck and God bless you,
Jason Lantagne
Aidan you are awesome! I just bought one of your drawings and I cannot wait to hang it in my apartment!
Keep your head up, you are an inspiration to us all!

Hi Aiden! I just wanted to let you know that I bought a spongebob drawing of yours to hang in my little girls bedroom! She’s 4 and she LOVES Spongebob and I know she is going to love her new picture! You are a really terrific artist! I know you’re not feeling good lately, so we are sending good thoughts for you to feel better. I’m wondering if there is an address that my little girl Julia could send you a picture that she will draw for you too.
How sweet!

Hi, Aiden! I found out about you through Regretsy (they’re really funny over there) and I thought I’d drop a line. You remind me of my nephew, Ollie, though he’s only three. He’s a ball of energy, like you! I hope you’re feeling better and eating well. As soon as I can afford it, I’m going to get a button with one of your monsters on it for my brother. Hey Aidan,
I work with some 5-8 year old boys (just like you) who are also fighting the “L” word. I get to see them for 1 week in the summer each year as part of a magical place called Camp Happy Times (run by The Valerie Fund in NJ)! I’m going to frame your awesome drawing on my wall next to the pictures I have with all of my friends from Camp Happy Times. Keep that great smile shining and your positive attitude will get you through this in no time, I know it! You inspire me =)
Brian
Hi, Aidan!

I just bought a print of your purple monster. I love the color purple and you did a great job of drawing the monster. I will keep you in my prayers and hope that you fight this cancer and live a very long time. You have such a talent. Your aunt should ask a big art museum to hold an exhibit of all your monster pictures in honor of you. That would help you raise a lot more money. I hope to buy more of your drawings. Keep up the drawing and good luck!
Aidan,
Hey buddy your one tough cookie and a awesome artist. If only the world had more Aidan’s. Have a great Thanksgiving to you and your family.

I’m just about to let my toddler, Cara choose one of your drawings for her personal collection. I’m happy to help.

I’m really happy that I’ve discovered you online today, on Thanksgiving! I was really touched and you made me smile with your monsters! I wanted to buy one, but I’ve decided to donate all the money instead of spending on shipping. But maybe I’ll be haunted by one of them and will have to come back to buy one! 🙂
Thank you for letting me help you in someway! I’ve been thinking a lot about helping people lately, about finding a way to help. And today I’ve found you! 🙂 And it makes me happy!

Hi Aidan,
My son’s name is Aidan too, but he’s a lot younger than you, only 5 months old right now, but I think he would still love to have one of your pictures up in his room though. Good luck buddy, me and my Aidan are rooting for you.
I have ordered a picture from your site and will be hanging it on Charlotte’s hospital room door when we receive it. She is two and a half and was diagnosed with M7-AML just two days before you were. I hope you and your family stay strong and keep up the good fight.

Dear Aidan,
I recently read and was inspired by your story in Love It! Magazine here in the UK.
When I seven years old I was diagnosed with the same condition you have. Just like you I loved to draw and dress up in costumes and had a passion for sharing my creations with others whilst I was in hospital. I am now 23 years old and I am a costume designer in the UK and have been in remission since I finished chemo in 1998 (and yes I still draw and dress up in costumes to!)
I have bought some of your drawings and intend to give them to my mum and dad who cared for me whilst I was unwell. Your story reminded me of how lucky, just like you are, of what wonderful and dedicated parents I have.
I hope you keep up your fantastic monster drawings, you have a great imaginative flare that many designers wish they had!
I wish you and your family all the best and hope your recovery comes to you swiftly. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Hey Aidan!
I have to say I am a huge fan of horror movies and I think your monsters are the coolest thing I’ve ever seen! I just order the wolfman and I’m so excited to put it on my wall! You are so talented!
I know it sucks being sick. I was pretty sick when I was your age too, but just
Stay strong and brave, I know you can fight this off!!
everyone here is rooting for you!
-Carol 🙂
Hi, Aidan. My name is John. I also love monsters and collect Halloween masks. I have one that I would like to give you for free. I can mail it to you. Please have your Mommy and Daddy contact me. I hope you feel better soon, Buddy.
Take good care.
Your friend And fellow monster lover,
John Clegg
Hi Aidan!
I’ve just ordered one of your topnotch prints, Wolf Man No.2. Apart from being a fab piece of art, it also looks very much like me in the morning, especially the claws – I must find those nail clippers one day.
I’m hungry like the wolf for your drawing to arrive! I am really looking forward to putting Wolf Man on the wall, next to a picture of my dog, Monty. Funnily enough Monty looks, and is, a sweet dog but sounds like a wolf – a big wolf. He howls to the neighbours dog in a beautiful, haunting manner. One day I’ll whack him on YouTube – look out for him.
Keep fighting there Mister!
All the best from London, United Kingdom.
Wolf Man (aka Mr J)
Aidan, I just received your drawings Crazy Guy #1 and Wolverine vs. Green Goblin….holy cow, you are an amazing artist. Love ya, Big Guy.
Take care, Paula and
Luigi & Sadie (my doggies)

Olá Aidan e família,
Sou do Brasil, tenho 34 anos.
