Aidan is doing good!

Carrying the backpack around everywhere doesn’t seem to bother him much, which is good. He has to wear it until late next month. We are so glad to see that he has been drawing and dressing up in his costumes just like the old Aidan. 😀

Dad found a little jester hat for Aidan and  MADE the shoes to match. Who says men cant sew ;p

Dad and Aidan the Fall Parade

Tomorrow Aidan gets blood drawn and they will talk to the Doctor about getting back on track with the chemo. He also started a new healthy diet, no more McDonalds!

AND I have posted a few new pictures in Aidan’s shop!

Hey Aiden, just writing to let you know we’re thinking about you! I’m from a city called Seattle, and I love your drawings! They are so cool and scary. My nephew’s name is Caleb and he’s 3, and he’s starting to draw pictures with monsters too. Maybe I’ll show him some of yours so he can learn how to draw awesome creatures like you! Be strong big guy and get some rest – Halloween is coming up and we want to see pictures of you in your super cool costume!

I found out about Aidan through regretsy and just wanted to know that my thoughts are with you. I did want to share a link, though… it might be worth looking into.
There’s a website that’s technically for startup companies… it’s called kickstart. It might be worth looking into. I’ve heard of artists posting bits of their work and getting thousands for it, just so they’ll have the money to be able to concentrate on their art. It’s got a pretty large following, and I’m sure that people would be more than willing to help out someone as awesome as Aidan. Anyway… I just thought I’d pass it along. I’ll be keeping my eye out for news. He’s a brave little man, and an inspiration. I really hope he gets lots better really soon.

Hi, I am a journalist and I would love to write a story about you. Are you from the UK? You should really get someone like me to help you to get Aidan’s story out there and keep donations rolling in. I don’t know where you’re from, but the first thing to do would be to get in touch with local papers and TV. It’ll snowball from there, I guarantee it. Thanks, Allie x

Just bought some of your artwork, looking forward to receiving it. Keep tough.

Hi Aidan! I just bought your Gill Man drawing on Etsy, and I’m so excited to get it! You’re a talented artist! I hope you’ll sign it for me – it’s important for artists to sign their work!

I will be praying for you. I know how difficult cancer treatment is – my dad is being treated for a rare form of Lymphoma right now and is going through chemo too. We bought him a visor that has hair attached to it!

Hello Aidan. Sorry to hear about your illness but you seem like a strong little boy with a great family. I love you monster drawings and I am going to have to buy a few things myself. I came across your story on Twitter through retweets and I in turn retweeted. Another artist expressed a desire to not only purchase a print but to donate a custom vinyl toy. I would like to pass on any contact information for this artist or any others that may express interest.

    Stay strong little man.

  8. I’m from Brazil and I’ve just heard your history.
My best wishes for your family!
    Good Luck for u all!

    I’ll be praying for Aidan!

    Juliana.

I discovered Aidan’s story via http://www.badassdigest.com/2010/10/27/buy-a-monster-drawing-help-save-a-kids-life and immediately leapt at the chance to purchase one of these awesome prints – as well as pass on the link to friends and family – to do my part.

You won’t need a stranger to tell you that you have a very special boy there, and one truly awesome little geek in the making. He is very talented, I could totally see him designing some brilliant creatures for a Guillermo Del Toro movie in the future.

I just purchased the print called “Red Monster” but I hope to return and pick up that Wolverine/Green Goblin one, too, because it is calling to the inner-comic nerd in me.

I look forward to owning my very own monster, and I wish Aidan the very best!

  10. As an aspiring filmmaker, I can sometimes get down on myself. Not enough time to shoot, people not showing up on time, footage not turning out like I thought it would among other things. My entire goal as an aspiring artist is to make people scared and entertain them with horror and monster movies and while I love making films, I sometimes let little things bog me down so that I feel like I can’t work for a while.
Thank you, Aidan and the creators of this blog, for giving me a boost in morale. When I read about his struggles and the positive feelings he keeps with him, my problems seem miniscule. It makes me realize that if I love something, I will continue to fight for it no matter what happens. Aidan, you are truly an inspiration, and I thank you again, for showing me why I must continue to do everything I can in the pursuit of what I love.
Also, your monster pictures are very, very cool! The clowns are awesome and I love the gill-man (him and Frankenstein’s monster are my favorite monsters) and I would be honored to one day, have one of your pictures on a poster or dvd cover or have anything to do with one of my movies.
    Thanks again.
    -A big fan, Daniel

Not sure if anyone from “the misc” mentioned this yet… but a thread has been started there to help raise awareness of Aidan’s cause.

we’re basically a community of fitness enthusiasts and bodybuilders… but we hang out in “the misc” which is a section where we usually just bust each other’s chops. However, when things are serious we have lots of great members who love helping a good cause. Have a look at the thread started, a lot of support in there.
